On arrival my pea coat had a pronouced musty smell from perhaps decades in storage. The coat had Buttons already sewn on— not expected, but welcome. On the other hand one of the USN anchor buttons was missing—so I will have to buy an additional button. A small, but interesting development.
The coat was significantly pilled, and the wool was well worn, as would be normal, and expected for a well used piece of military equipment. For me, as a veteran, it is really meaningful to connect, in my imagination, with the sailor who wore this coat—on guard duty, on watch at sea, maybe even in battle…
So, with perhaps the exception of the smell, I treasure all the imperfections.
My final comment relates to the cost of postage—which was over $14 to ship from Buffalo, to OK City. As a frequent purchaser of internet wool items, this was remarkable.
I will continue to value and use CamoLots because I have bought several hard to find items at a great price. Their customer service has always been responsive, and I have appreciated that.
